Hello friends!

First and foremost, I want to thank you for taking the time to check out this page and I hope it provides you with inspiration on all levels. I am so excited to share snippets of my life and journey with you. I am so grateful for all of those who have been a part of my journey thus far. And for those you are joining, welcome!

This blog is about my life, food, fitness, current events, pageants, lessons learned, and people. There is so much knowledge that I have gained from the wisdom of others in my life. I strive to pour into others the way others have poured into me over the years. A very close friend of mine once said “know your worth and then add tax.” My hope is that this blog inspires you, encourages you, and allows you to blossom in your worth.

I was born and raised in Hershey, Pennsylvania, the sweetest place on Earth. I lived in Lebanon, PA for three years before moving to Alabama. After graduating from Dallas County High School just outside of Selma, Alabama, my heart, head, and feet landed me at Troy University in Troy Alabama. GO TROJANS! There I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts as a dance major.

Although the move from up north to down south was sudden and unexpected, moving to Alabama put me in contact with some amazing opportunities and even more amazing people. Pageantry was not on my radar while living Pennsylvania but once I moved things changed.

I participated in Miss America system for five years and my most recent title was Miss Friendliest City where I represented Luverne Alabama in the Miss Alabama pageant in 2017. Rewind to 2013 where I was named the first African American Distinguished Young Woman of Dallas County.

I have met the most amazing people through these programs. That part of my life is now over but there are so many life lessons that I have gained over the years. I am so excited to share past and present experiences with you all. Hopefully I will inspire you as much as my mentors, friends, and family have inspired me.

My goal is that the stories and adventures I experience every day will inspire someone else, just as life has inspired me.

I have a passion for people, so please comment, like, or share your stories with me! I’d love to hear about who all is reading and tuning into savvyjanine.com!

So, let us DREAM big, DARE bigger, and BLOG on.

Much Love,
